All Things Organic moves to Expo East
March 11,2010

The All Things Organic trade show will move to Boston in October to co-locate with Natural Products Expo East, according to the Greenfield, Mass-based Organic Trade Association and Boulder, Colo.-based New Hope Natural Media. All Things Organic was previously owned by the Organic Trade Association, the new partnership with Expo East will extend for at least seven years.

Linder, Bushway and Sabin Announce All Things Organic Deal

The official announcement was made in front of the Fresh Ideas pavilion at Expo West, with New Hope president Fred Linder, OTA executive director Christine Bushway, and OTA board president Junia Sabin of Smuckers Natural speaking to a relaxed gathering of industry insiders.  "We're combining our strengths, which will also strengthen the industry," said Linder. "Hopefully, this is the beginning of further alliances between OTA and New Hope."

“This exciting new partnership unites the business and educational strengths of All Things Organic and Natural Products Expo East,” said Christine Bushway, executive director of OTA. “It will better serve the organic business community by increasing traffic, buyers and attendance at the trade event. Expo East will become the organic hub of the nation.”

Starting with this year’s event from October 13 to16, All Things Organic will become the branded organic pavilion in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. This pavilion will be designed to distinguish organic companies from other natural businesses at the show.

The All Things Organic educational program will also be incorporated into Natural Products Expo East as the OTA will develop a specific organic track for attendees. Also slated for the Expo East schedule is OTA’s Annual Meeting and the Leadership Awards Dinner and Dance to be held on October 15.

OTA companies will still receive a member discount when exhibiting. Priority points earned at previous All Things Organic trade shows will be applied to the Expo East priority point system for booth selection and placement.

New Hope Natural Media will coordinate with companies that had registered to exhibit at the June All Things Organic show in Chicago (no longer taking place) to work out their participation at the new location.

“Merging the expertise of New Hope Natural Media to produce and manage trade events in the organic space with OTA’s mission to promote and protect the growth of organic trade creates an optimal partnership and an investment into the organic industry,” said Linder.

Great! Makes total sense, and frankly, it helps justify the existence of both events.
